Description:
The healing Easter is a perennial herbaceous plant. The rhizome is creeping. The stem is fibrous, creeping, rooting or ascending, with erect flowering branches. The leaves are hairy, opposite - and broadly ovate or elliptic, 1.5–4 cm long, 1–2 cm wide, with short petioles, finely toothed, fibrous. The inflorescences are dense, single, glandular-fibrous, emerging from the axils of one of the two opposite leaves. Flower pedicels are shorter than the calyx. The corolla is light blue with a purple tinge, 6–7 mm in diameter, longer than the calyx. The carpel is a glandular, fibrous, many-seeded capsule. It blooms in the second half of spring and the first half of summer. The whole plant has a bitter and astringent taste.

Composition of the herb:
Aucubin glycoside, tannins and bitter substances, a little essential oil, saponins, organic acids (malic, citric, lactic), tannins, sugars, carotene (provitamin A), up to 230 mg vitamin C, gums, resinous substances, reducing sugars, minerals salts. In our tests of the drug, 0.108 % alkaloids and saponins, with a foam number of 100, and also flavonoids were found in it.
Therapeutic effect:
In acute and chronic bronchitis, bronchiectasis, pyelonephritis, prostatitis, chronic hepatitis, hypertensive disease, eczema.
Usage:
Ways of use:
Internally: 2 teaspoons of finely chopped drug are infused with 400 ml. boiling water, let stand for 30 minutes, and after cooling the infusion is filtered, used before meals x 100 ml, 3 times a day.
Externally is used for skin rashes: the crushed fresh drug in the form of porridge or the infusion of the drug 10 % in wood oil is considered a very good remedy for treating fresh and purulent wounds, burns, boils, etc. Honey plant. Decorative plant. Garden forms were also created from it
The herb is toxic and should only be prescribed by a doctor!
Bulgarian traditional usage:
