Description:

Mountain arnica is a perennial herbaceous plant. The rhizome is short, cylindrical, reddish brown on the outside, with several heads, with numerous thin roots emerging from its underside. In the first year, the rosette leaves develop on their own. They are large, 6–8 in number, vserect, oblong, obtuse, with 5–7 protruding veins below, dark green, with short petioles. The stem develops in the second year. It is 70–80 cm high, erect, simple or with several opposite branches, covered with hairs. Stem leaves are 2 to 4, opposite, oblong to lanceolate, semi-embracing the stem, sessile, entire, fibrous above, light green below, glabrous, 5–7-veined. The leaves at the bottom of the stem are smaller, with 3 veins, and the uppermost leaves are even smaller, with 1 vein. The flowers are large. The peripheral flowers are yellow-orange, and the inner ones are yellow, collected in relatively large baskets, which are located individually at the top of the stem and on its branches. The fruit is cylindrical, with a kite. The whole plant has a specific pleasant smell

Composition of the herb:

Still understudied. The content of essential oil (with the smell of chamomile oil, 0.04–0.14 %) was found, which includes azulene and sesquiterpenes, arnica, arnadiol, fernadiol, cynarin, choline, sterols, tannins, proteins, mucus, wax, etc

Therapeutic effect:

Arnica heals skin infections, bleeding wounds, arthritis, periodontal disease, cardiac neurosis, Buerger's disease, angiopathies, Hemostatic, choleretic, vasodilator, nervous system stimulant. In folk medicine, it is used for uterine hemorrhages, shortness of breath, bronchitis, diabetes and others.

Usage:

Externally: for applying paws, for boils, wounds, burns

Ways of use:

Internally:Pour 2 tablespoons of the herb with 500 ml of boiling water. Soak for 1 hour. Drink 100 ml 3 times a day before meals.
