Perennial herb, stemless, all parts with milky juice. The rhizome is straight, 20–60 cm long, unbranched, outside – red-brown, inside – white. The leaves are basal, collected in a rosette; depending on the soil conditions, they are linear-lanceolate to oblong, reaching a length of up to 50 cm. Glabrous or sparsely hairy, toothed to deeply, wavy-cut, pinnately dissected or divided. The flowers are collected in large baskets up to 3–4 cm in diameter, single, on a hollow stem, up to 50 cm high. The basket is large, with numerous yellow tongue-like flowers, wrapped with green sheathing leaves. Fruits are small, 3–4 mm long, tipped with a tuft of white hairs

Composition of the herb:

Contains triterpenes, sterols, rubber substances, glycosides, inulin, phenolic acids, carotonoids, flavonoids, provitamin A, etc.

Therapeutic effect:

Cholesterol, strengthens intestinal peristalsis, reduces cholesterol and blood sugar, strengthens the body, supplies vitamins A, B1, C and D. Improves liver functions.

Usage:

Ways of use:

Internally. Pour two tablespoons of the drug with 600 ml of cold water, soak for 5-8 hours. Strain and drink 200 ml, 3 times before meals. An alcohol extract can also be made and used.

Externally the decoction of the drug is used to apply to wounds. Raw consumption is beneficial.

Caution: Do not take for a long time!

Bulgarian traditional usage:
